We strive to transform Santa Monica and the world through the power of libraries. Libraries are the heart of the community, culture, education and democracy. The foundation’s support for the Santa Monica Public Library enhances high-caliber programs that nurture literacy, technology and innovation and lifelong learning.

INvesting in OUR YOUTH

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." - Albert Einstein

The foundation strongly supports helping our youth find the highest, truest expression of themselves. By supporting the foundation, your proceeds help fund STEAM related initiatives. We recognize that in order to be successful in technical fields, we must also be creative and use critical thinking skills which are best developed through exposure to the arts.

This include teen art programs with exhibits, digital photography classes, robotics, coding, video creation, fabrication (3D pens) and more! [Foundation Initiative]

COLLABORATIVE WORKSPACE & TOOLS (Public incubator)

Santa Monica Public Library provides comfortable, engaging and beautiful spaces for people to read, relax, discover, learn, and participate in social and civic discourse. The Library acts as an anchor in the community, a third place separate from home and work. The foundation supports the library in adapting spaces, technology and services flexible and responsive to new trends and community needs to help our community members flourish in today's knowledge economy.

By supporting the foundation, you help fund makerspace elements such as 3D printers, electronic teaching kits, and virtual reality demonstrations in addition to the purchase of software and tooling for coding, web, video, audio and graphics production, tables, e-readers & etc!
